“Casa Lenta was an amazing accommodation for my family trip (4 adults, 4 kids) to San Diego. Great location and a 1 minute walk to the beach. The house is exactly as pictured and very clean. The neighborhood was private and quiet while being close to restaurants and the beach. Kip was an excellent host and very professional. His communication was fast and always made us feel at home. We made good use of the hot tub, grill, fire pit and living space. We traveled with children between the ages of 6 and 12. The house might might not be the best for toddlers unless you move some of the nice decorations to prevent accidents. We would recommend a rental car if you plan on going to the zoo (25 min drive), Legoland (25 minutes). Parking on property was easy. “One of the best stays I’ve ever had the pleasure of in San Diego. Beautiful home from A to Z and Kip was beyond helpful with every request. Exceptional attention to detail with amenities such as the Le Labo products, morning coffee options, and sonos speakers throughout. Everything you could possibly need was available from bikes to beach accoutrements to top of the line linens and cook ware. The only thing I’d complain about were the fees! “All 6 of us adults who stayed in this house agreed that this is by far the best Airbnb we have ever stayed in. The house is beautiful! Every single detail is thought through with next level amenities selected all through out the home. We were in awe of the soaps, lotions, candles, bikes, sound system and so much more. They even had creamers, Nespresso pods, wine and ingredients to make guacamole at the house for us. The neighborhood is in a super cute area and we enjoyed walking to the beach and to close by restaurants and shops. Seriously can’t say enough good things about this house! I do think it’s important to mention that there is a good bit of nudity in the art work around the home. “This was a spectacular stay—a beautiful house with elegance. Everything had a nice touch to it. Comfy, cozy, homey and just perfect for a vacation. All that is needed to enjoy the beach was provided. The backyard was lovely, with a massive hot tub that was perfect for early morning or mid-day or end-of-day relaxation. Truthfully, this is probably my fav yearly Airbnb stay in Cali. Bathrooms were large and spacious, and all shampoos, body wash and condition were my fav brand. “We had the distinct pleasure of being one of the first vacationers in this fantastic property. To summarize succinctly, this property is 5+ stars. The amenities were truly high end, and not stuff that was meant for a rental property. There was attention to every detail. On arrival, our family arrived to fresh, white peonies in the dining room and in each bedroom. Towels were aplenty, and the kitchenware was top notch with La Creuset and Crate and Barrel amenities, and branch new stainless steel appliances that felt like home. The bathrooms were impeccably clean, and the French soap and accompanying hand lotion were also top notch, as if we would use in our own homes. I cannot emphasize the attention to detail. Turkish beach towels were provided for at least 8 people. The amenities in the bathrooms were plentiful. In the garage were 4 boogie boards from Surf Ride Board shop down the street. There were additionally 2 surfboards. 8 Surf Ride Beach Chairs, along with two beach umbrellas, were provided with access to a Townie Beach Cruiser. Additionally, there were two foldable CB tables that you could take to the beach if you wanted. In the back yard, there was a brand new stainless gas grill, situated next to a cornhole set that my kids played on every night. There was little need to ever use the AC, the fresh ocean breeze was enough to keep the house well ventilated. Our days consisted of a soccer tournament, but each morning started with a short 5-10 min stroll into town where we had either Lofty's Coffee or Madeleine's Cafe and Bakery each morning before we engaged with the rest of the family. When it came to beach time, we would walk out the property, make a right turn and walk one block. You have to walk down 150 quick steps and you're on the beach at Tide Beach. Time from door to beach and setting up chairs was 5 minutes at a very leisurely pace. It was less crowded than other beaches, and we spent all our free hours there. It was perfect to spend a few hours at the beach, walk back, take a nap, and then go back out to the water. It was such a joy that we did not have to purchase a single additional amenity to enjoy the beach. Clearly, this amazing team thought of all the requirements that would make this a memorable experience. I would not hesitate to come back to this place again. “What a great stay in perfect location in Solana Beach area. Kip was a fantastic property manager and did everything he could to make us feel welcomed from the beginning. He offered to deliver some groceries since we got in very late the first night before Thanksgiving holiday with two kids. The house was great and very clean with everything we needed. The bathrooms upstairs were brand new and updated which were just gorgeous. The host left us lovely toiletries and plenty of clean towels and all the beach gear we needed to enjoy an afternoon on the beach. We really enjoyed the patio out back and ate our breakfast every morning on the patio. The location was off the hook, walking to great eateries, bars, cafes, and the beach. “We had an amazing time at Casa Solana Beach. Access to the beach is just down the street, and we could just stroll down for morning walks and afternoon surfs. The stairs are probably too much for toddlers though, but we just drove 3 minutes down the street to two other beaches. The house was beautifully decorated and had so many extra amenities with the bikes, surfboards, boogie boards, and sand toys. “Wow, this house could not be more beautiful, well-equipped or better located. Our group of six included myself, my husband, our 17 yo son and his friend, and our 13 yo daughter and her friend. The bedroom spaces were perfect for us (the girls shared one of the two master suites, while the boys each had their own bedroom). Kip is a master of the finishing touch - his guide and advice is great, the house was filled with fresh flowers and other treats when we checked in, and he was available for random questions by text whenever we had them. The house is newly renovated/decorated with a soulful, sophisticated feel, but it still functioned well as a beach house. We cooked/grilled and ate outdoors probably 5 of our ten nights - that was super-easy and fun. We surfed and hung out at the beach, but with the help of the hose at the side of the house, we kept the sand out of the house. Our teens just wanted to chill at times, and lounging around the house was a true pleasure, whether on the front porch, the back yard, the upper-back balcony or even just the comfy LR sofa with the breeze coming in through the big accordion doors. The garage is stocked with a great array of beach toys - surf boards, boogie boards, paddle boards, beach umbrellas, back-pack beach chairs, a yeti cooler…. OMG it was so nice not to have to rent that stuff or pack it or or to have to make do without it. Bring straps for your car so you can take those paddle boards out off Cardiff! (They seem a bit too big to get down the local beach stairway, but then again, I am only 5’2”.) Oh, and did I mention the beauty of the particular stretch of beach just below the house? A half-block walk gets you to the local stairway, and the sand is perfect - very few stones, unlike Encinitas, which is pretty much unwalkable without flip-flops, and totally unrunnable (not to mention stuffed with people). Anyway, we had a great 10-day stay (a needed escape from the Sacramento heat) - it just couldn’t have been better! Thanks, Kip!” Susannah, Sacramento, CA
